Favorite Load for the 45 Carbine
I recently acquired a HiPoint carbine in 45ACP. So far, my best accuracy has come from a 200 grain SWC, 5.1 grains of Unique, CCI LP primers, all set in Federal brass. Does anyone have recommendations on other formulas I can use? I've tried 185 grain SWC's, 225 grain flex tips, and 230 grain Golden Sabers so far, all with various amounts of Unique. Results have been a bit spotty, so I'd really appreciate some help.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
Mike

Here is a calculator you can use to determine point of impact in relation to aiming point.
http://www.handloads.com/calc/
I use this program every time I switch to a different load to determine trajectory.

Thanks!
Thanks, Ranger 6; I'll check it out. BTW, I'm a Vietnam Era Vet, and two of my sons served in Desert Storm, so I thank a vet or two every day!
And, Ratchet, I've been reloading for over 40 years, and currently reload for 19 different calibers. If you have any questions, please PM me and I'll try to answer them for you.

Reloading press
I started out, back in the Dark Ages, with a Lee; then went to an RCBS RockChucker; currently running a Hornady Lock N Load. All three will serve you well, since they all basically do the same functions. Your LoadMaster is a great press. Read all the instructions that come with it to set your dies correctly. Invest in at least one good reloading manual and read the introduction that comes with it. They'll take you step by step through the reloading process, from case preparation to final seating of the bullets. I have fairly current Lee, Sierra and Hornady manuals at my fingertips when I'm at the reloading bench. Since they come out every year, and are a bit pricey, I sort of rotate through them, buying one new one per year. That way you can keep up with the latest developments in powders and bullets and calibers.

This will be my 1st time reloading , I originally wanted the 45acp loadmaster kit but they were back ordered so I ordered the 9mm kit and the 45acp dies , I thought the Lg. Primer kit came with the original kit , so when I got it yesterday I was surprised to find out it didnt , soooo today I ordered the Lg. Primer kit and the shellholder plate for the 45 acp today , I already have the dies , can you think of anything else i may need for it ??
Supposedly I have all the stuff got 9mm I may need ! Thanks

Reloading equipment
Not right off hand. You do have a beam scale or electronic scale to measure you powder charges, I assume. Lee's "little dippers" are not to be trusted; measure your powder charges with a scale of some sort! You'll need a micrometer to measure your case length after you've resized it and expanded the mouths; and you'll also need it to measure the overall length of the finished product.

You can get a sufficient set of calipers from Harbor Freight on the cheap.
