Took the 995TS and handguns to the range today. Removed the red dot. Factory sights are pretty accurate out of the box. Indoor range max is 25 Yrds. Vision isn't as good as it used to be so a scope is in the near future.
Put 150 rnds of Federal aluminum case 115 gr. 9mm FMJ downrange without a hitch. One 10 rnd. mag sucks. Definitely need to aquire a couple of extra mags. Plan to buy the 2 mag holder/w 10 rnd. factory mags. May just pass on the Redball mags and use the factory 10 rounders.

Have you visited Battlefield Las Vegas? They have some impressive full-auto stuff there.

What range do you go to? I usually go to Discount Firearms on Highland, but I've been to the Gun Store (for CCW), and Green Valley.

We usually go to the Green Valley range since it is so close to the house.
This time we tried out Discount Firearms range because we wanted to discuss their CCW classes. Tossed a few hundred 9mm rounds downrange with the 995 and handgun. We pretty much used up a brick of .22LR also.
.22's are so much fun... . With the handguns we mostly just practiced CCW qualifying strong hand, offhand, and two handed.
CCW's, for the wife and I, are planned for the new year.

Check out The Gun Store for CCW. I think I had inquired about it at Discount, but The Gun Store was cheaper by at least $30.

If you want to put the red dot back on, but still be able to use the factory sights as a backup, they make a 45 degree rail. I've got my red dot off to the side, and can go quickly from it to factory with a simple move of the head (in fact it's a drill I like to practice).

Now that I know the irons are pretty accurate I will remount the red/green dot and see if I can get it to cowitness.

sarahsmom: Feel free to PM me or answer freely here.

It's not so much the cost of the class as it is conveinence of days the class is offered. Wife wants for us to take the class the same day.
Tell me about your expeirence with the Gun Store class. I know you have to buy their ammo for the class. What are the shooting qualifying requirements? This is more to inform my wife than anything else as she wants to be able to practice.

As a side note. I received my magazine holder and 2 new mags today and got it mounted up.

ABSOLUTE Co-Witness is a PITA, but you can just move your eye level up until the dot is not on your irons. Should be a bit easier on the eyes!

Pretty nice setup, for extra mags I got one for my 4595D and loaded it with 2 of the 1911, 10rd, 45ACP mags

I put ours in a cooler & set it outside. Duh!! It's an ICE Storm. Plenty of Ice outside your door!!
The lady across the street didn't have any heat. She asked me what to do?
I said if she had a gas stove she could use that.
I told her to get some matches & light it by hand.
