Default I Earned That 5

Conversation with coworker other night:

Me: "Hurry up, we gots to go."
Him: "What are you in such a hurry for? Not like you got a wife waiting for you." (zing! true, though).
Me: "I wanna get home, work is done, why would I stay?"
Him: "You spend all time at work on computers, what's so different from what you're doing at home?"
Me: "Clothes."

We left shortly thereafter.
I don't have the most humorous of lives, so I find exhanges like this to be funny, sue me lol.

Yes, I did just get married lol.
She is currently 5,200 miles due east of my current position until March at the earliest, however.

My brain was programed for military structure when drafted 40 years ago, and I wore jungle fatigues and shot all kinds of military guns. Today, my brain is still programed for military structure at 60 years old, and I wear tactical fatigues and shoot all kinds of civilian guns. There is just something about braincells that refuses the treatment of social reprogramming.

"There is just something about braincells that refuses the treatment of social reprogramming."

It's all about age. The brain is still re-wiring itself before age 25. Sure, one can learn new info after that age, but deep habits are significantly more hard to ingrain after then.

When I was getting my teaching license, I read a study that used MRI and CT to show that if a person takes higher math courses (trig/calc/etc) prior to age 25, there are nerve pathways (common to all who studied higher math) but are missing from those who didn't.

Amazingly, ALL who studied higher math have the same pathways form. ALL who didn't, don't.

Take those people who didn't and after 25 teach them the higher math and those pathways are still missing.
