Has to be one of the best articles I've seen written on the history of gun control and how it (fails to) prevents crime.

He missed an opportunity to explain the concept of the intermediate round an "assault rifle" shoots. He also did a disservice by implying they are good hunting arms without explaining the type of hunting they are suitable for. I believe these are important distinctions and separates "assault rifles" from full power hunting rifles. Many people believe the intermediate round BLACK RIFLES are the deadliest guns on the planet and nearly as deadly as a phaser.

I would agree with Duster... The sight of a scary BLACK RIFLE makes most people who know little if anything about firearms run for the hills... I am of the firm belief that an average marksmen can do as much if not more damage with a Savage bolt action 270 and a pocket full of rounds as a fully Tact out nut bag with an AR or AK with 5 or 6 full 30 round mags on him...

The anti 2nd Amendment subversives and the gun-phobes have a way with words to scare the sheeple. Until recently, only select-fire rifles were defined "assault rifles". That's right, they had to be machine guns to be an assault rifle. Full automatic rifles have been illegal for a long time unless with a special permit. That all changed; now they call anything black and semi-auto an "Assault Rifle".

(Isn't that true about everything else? If their agenda doesn't fit truth and reason, they redefine it to fit, and charge on. For instance, they wanted to accuse America of "Genocide", they looked around and couldn't find any; no problem, they just started calling it "Cultural Genocide", and that way they applied the filthy lie to us.)

Congratulations, so all you gun owners are fiends now, because your scoped hunting rifle is now a "deadly sniper rifle" and your black semi-auto is now an "Assault Rifle".

Eventually they will have our guns. They violate the Constitution with impunity, no way to stop them, and they force us to follow their unconstitutional laws. The game is rigged for us to lose, and it's only a matter of time.

absolutely, and heres some more for you

1) after the colorado "batman" shooting, they arrested a guy who had a "machinegun" and other guns in his car.

he was ticketed for NOT having a ccw, thats it. what happened to the "machinegun" felony charge ????

2) JUST this morning on the news....lincoln park MI, a "barricaded" gunman

then they explain how he "locked" himself in the house

Im sorry...a "barricaded gunman" has sandbags, booby traps ETC. not just a locked wooden door

but hey....if you dont sensationalize it a bit....its not news
