My wife and I are planing a trip from Central Ohio to Myrtle Beach SC. We'll be driving there and back. Has anyone with a CCW ever done the same thing? I know that SC reciprocates Ohio's CHL but I'm looking for advice on if I can carry the whole way from Ohio to SC while driving down there. Any advice you can give me will be much appreciated.

Looks like you can if you drive South - not thru PA.

Looks to me that leaving from Ohio and heading south thru WV, VA, NC and into the NC-SC border area (where Myrtle Beach is) you should be good to go the entire way. If you go through TN and KY you should also be good to go. I could be wrong but methinks not.

check on specific carry requirements for the states you are rolling through and where you will be staying (carry as many and whatever kind i want in MO, 3 in AR and specific type pistol licensed for in TX). i recently drove to FL from MO and went around IL (I55 s to Tn) so i could carry on the trip Mo has different rules than FL and i tend to tell police the " i have a legal concealed carry in the small of my back, my wallet is....." when pulled over. i travel to TX several times a year as i get the chance and its a required notification there but not here. bar/restaraunt carry and what constitutes concealed (printing, wind blowing cover garment and such) legality of ignoring the nmo carry signs at a business, these can trip you up outside your AO. learn the law and you will do fine.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's advice! We made the trip and had a great time. I carried all the way from home to Myrtle Beach and back, carrying there whenever regulations allowed!
