After living in a big city, and having a police officer shot 3 doors down from my apartment, I don't blame him at all. If you wanna let just anyone in, go for it, brother. But don't crucify the man for wanting to protect his family and home.

Peepholes were invented for a reason. Theres a differnce between letting in a stranger and commanding only the man answer the door. Get friggin real. Give the wife a gun and lay off the testosterone. Hes not always goin to be around, no offence.

Front door cam hooked up to the living room TV. Broken door bell has been substituted by the dogs.

I work in manassas so we looked at almost all the citys and f-burg had the lowest over all crime rate, but a sexual crime rate almost higher than every where else.

so far we have had no issues with where we live, but the doors are always locked and my wife knows how to use a gun when im working nights.

My gun rack is right next to my door; all of them have one round in the mag/tube ready to be chambered. If they knock and I can't recognize them through the peep, I just talk to them through the door. It's base housing, so I don't usually demand ID every time (although I do for anyone claiming to work for my leaseholders or the government), but I got a bit of a reputation around my area as "The Gun Guy," so it's pretty decent.

These are crazy times we're living in...that's for sure. The rise in violent crime in South Florida and around the country in general with stories like this are EXACTLY why I decided to get armed and learn the responsible handling of firearms.

With "End of days" conspiracy nut jobs dreading the end of life as we know it this year added to the long list of drug addicted violent criminals saturating the area, added to a bad economy and the rise of theft and burglaries nationwide it's a comforting feeling knowing I can protect my home if put in a bad position, if absolutely necessary.
