Default Some good balistics info on 9MM ammo. Winchester vs Remington

I did a little research on Winchester USA white box 9mm 115 gr ammo vs Remington UMC 9mm 115 gr ammo.
Here are a couple 0f links.
It appears that the Remington ammo does not pack the punch of the WWB.
WWB= 1190 fps and 362 FT LBS
Rem. UMC=1135 FPS and 329 FT LBS
That helps explain why the Remington UMC ammo was problematic in my C9.
[A shorter cartridge with less power}

i doubt 31 lb/ft and 55 FPS would make a big difference operation wise in a HP.

It was not a big difference--I had 6 failure to feed out of 100 rounds with Remington ammo and no problems at all with 100 rounds of Winchester ammo.
I did a slight adjustment on the magazine lips which seems to have solved the problem with Remington ammo.
I just want it to be known that all of the Remington 9MM ammo has less muzzle velocity and and less energy than the comparable Winchester 9MM ammo according to the factory links that I posted.
Something to think about when choosing ammo.

Regards, Merf

the standard deviation spec for WWB is wider than the difference between teh two rounds so its kinda moot. dont want to bash WWB when it really doesnt deserve it.

Can you give me a link or reference where I can attain that information?

P.S. It is not only the WWB but all of the Winchester 9MM rounds are more powerful than the comparable Remington rounds according to the specs given on their websites.

go to winchesters website and under ballisitcs there is a spec for allowable standard deviation in the tech data. also you can call in and ask and they will provide that for you.

IMO, there's not enough of a difference to matter. I mean this stuff is just target ammo anyway.
