There is one scratch on the side on the slide lock from it being taken down by the previous owner. I will let it slide lol. The pistol has never been fired but has had the action worked multiple times. I know the previous owner very well, he got it cause he thought the 1911 was just cool. He had 2, this one and the other he had only shot once.

I got 2 50 round boxes of hydra shocks, 1 box of FMJ Winchester, and a set of dies with it. The ammo is all fctory, the dies are missing the shell plate however.

Just make sure to get magazines that work with it. Try out severals, and stick with that brand(s). Other than that, put some rounds through it, before trying to start out with HollowPoint ammo.

Glad you got quite a deal on it man, very good deal. As far as what to do, shoot the snot out of it one day, then learn to break it down and clean. They seem a little "complicated" at first, when compared to more modern firearms, but once you've done it once or twice it's eaaaasy. Plenty of video guides online for you to check out. If you ever upgrade the grips to a set like the Pachmayr wrap arounds (niiiiice) then please hit me up if you wanna sell the ones you have now cause I really like those and they would look good on my Springfield.

Taurus, I'd hook you up with my grips, but they're the plain ones without the U.S. panel, and it looks like you already have some of those.

    Nice gun.

You want advice then here it is:

    Polish the feed ramp

Get good mags - 2 that I recommend are Wilson 47D and Kimber TacPro, Wilson also has a new 1911 mag but I have not personally tried it yet.

Just a personal thing but I swear by gunbutter as a lube.

The scratch? Nuthin to it, a gun that don't have some sort of wear is a gun that hasn't been shot much and that is a sorry sight indeed.

Have fun and welcome to the 1911 club.

Since my wife got a new digital camera for her birthday *$150.00 out of my account BTW* I'll post some good pics of my RIA 1911 sometime this weekend/next week.

Having shot Taurus' 1911 and mine side by side, *see thread Post Vids of yourself in the Lounge* I have to say that his gun is awesome. If Andrew got as good of a deal as I think he did, he's doing alright.

Since I have had so many computer issues, I lost the majority of my chick pics and gun pics. Double whammy. I will get pics of my carry rig soon.
