Took the cpx to the range today.
meh. I like the Kel-Tec better but I dont hate this one. While the pistol seems more accurate than the p-11, the safety is aweful.

every shot would engage the safety. if the safety was half engaged then dropped to fire position it would produce a light strike. Ive removed the safety completely and the gun seems to function just fine. Is there any reason i cant leave it off? Ive just got a hole through the gun where the safety was. Ill need to find something to plug it.

At the range i used some tape to temp 'fix' the safety and the gun functioned fine.

Seems ive also been spoiled by the porting on my KT cuz this little pistol tore my hand up pretty bad.

If priced the same ill take a Kel Tec. Im still going to hold onto the CPX though as the accuracy is amazing.

at 7yds i was able to cut the top of my targets head off w/ 9rnds then the next target i was able to make a smiley face. :D shots were about 1sec apart.

I think ive also fixed the safety prob by sanding the huge 1/4" levers down to being flush w/ the frame. Dis-engaging the safety is still done w/ the thumb, but engaging now it must be done w/ the other hand. Ill verify function on the range next Sa

  2. I own a SKYY also, but I like the position of the safety. I don't have the problems with the safety engaging when the slide goes back like you're having, though. I don't know what to tell you on that one except that they have a lifetime warranty - give the company a call.

:D Pics please, if you're gonna talk about guns then we need some visual aids/porn to help us identify with where you are coming from...

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem...I am addicted to GUNS  hehehehe!

ahhh!!! much better, how do you like the Skyy, I was doing a bit of research and other than a finiky safety that engages itself, it seemed to be great gun, special in the 9mm caliber...good luck, she's a looker!!

Its a nice gun. KTs seem more reliable out of the box but the safety fix should work just fine.

the skyy has a much lighter and shorter trigger and seems easier to rack as well.

p11 is a few ounces lighter but not very noticeable.

ive also figured out how to modify the KT 12 & 15 rnd mags to work in the cpx so capacity matches the KT now.

Accuracy is simply amazing. my p11 is no where near the level of trick shots the cpx is capable of. (see smiley above ^)
