A few years ago, Hi Point came out with a Kershaw Scallion knife combo that was branded with the Maltese cross logo of our favorite maker. Well after a hiatus, it looks like its back in at least one offer.
Kershaw's Scallion is one of the blademaker's bestselling and most-popular knives. Featuring 420HC stainless steel blades and 6061-T6 anodized-aluminum handles, it's lightweight at just 2.3 ounces. However, don't let it fool you, as the maker states, "just because it's smaller doesn't mean it isn't mighty."
Equipped with a stainless pocket clip, the Speed Safe design means this assisted-opening blade can go from pants to palm in an open position in seconds while a Tip-Lock helps prevent accidental openings and helps "child-safe" it when not in use. Overall 5.75-inch length comes with a 2.25-inch blade that compacts to a handy 3.5-inches when folded.
Offered with a black polymer storage case, the Hi Point branded Kershaw was sold with the otherwise standard C-9 9mm pistol.
The Hi Point/Kershaw combo first popped up around 2010 then was put to pasture soon after to the frustration of some forum members who really wanted one.
Well its now back in circulation as confirmed on MKS's Facebook page and website. The 916 HC Knife kit is the C-9 ($222), and, as before includes the Kershaw, box, and C-9.
While the blades have popped up by themselves on eBay and other sites and the combos from time to time show up on Armslist and other gun classifieds over the years, the welcome addition of the package in new condition in the supply chain is likely welcome.
Of course, you can always buy the knives aftermarket through Strassell's for $40 as well.
