I like this look. Was thinking of doing it, but leaving the center rib black. Did you just sand the black finish off?

@Euro4595ts...thanks for the suggestions. I've ordered a 'shorty' barrel shroud from Long Shot...angle vented in brushed aluminum, which will fit behind the muzzle brake and front sight. Had to cut off the factory POS plastic rail below the barrel, but I'm having Long Shot include a 5-slot aluminum rail to attach to the bottom of the shroud. Since my carbine is the 'desert digital' camo, I'm thinking of painting the shroud a brass/gold color to better match the stock color, so if I decide to do the brake similar to yours, I'll probably do it in the gold color too. Don't know how cutesy I want to get with it. Someone on the forum is bound to call me a ***! Lol. I'll post pics here when it's all done. Thanks again...I like your mods!

@lschattler44 Thanks for the coments... And your design sound really nice.. Hope to see it soon. So you can fit the compensator and the front sight with the shroud? I know the shroud iv been checking it out for a while but i cant decide on what kind to get there is few out there on the market. There is some that go on the Beretta carbine but they fit Hi point also. Im doing lil project on my 4595 adding lil color to my. Knightsmen rail covers charging handle and stock. Will be posting it friday. And dont worry about people talking crap brother. Do what you like with it, its your rifle. Everyone has their own style and likes.

@Euro4595ts...Yeah, Long Shot came up with a special shroud...they call it the 'Shorty' a couple years back, especially designed to fit behind the compensator and sight. It's exactly 3-7/16" long...the distance between the sight and the forestock of the 995TS. They quit making them due to lack of interest, but when I questioned Jerry about them, he said he still had a couple of them left, and sold me one. Even got their current 20% discount on it! I'm fairly new to the Hi-Point forum, but have enjoyed seeing all the mods and upgrades guys have done to the carbines. Some real imagination going on out there, and it is fun to take a rather plain design and make it your own with some paint and tweaking. BTW...if you're interested in a shroud, Long Shot has their current sale going on through May 8th, I think...20% off everything they sell. Good chance to save a few bucks on it. Good talking with you...I'll look forward to seeing the pics of your latest mods.
