Ok I'm going to need some help here.
Incurred some damage during Irma passing over my house.
Apart from fence blown over little visible damage.
Wood frame house built in '63 concrete slab.
We have cracks visible in every outside corner and silly me...I don't think the roof lines are as straight as they used to be.
Now..after 2.5 months we just had an adjuster from the insurance company come by and basically our insurance policy sucks as we're not getting replacement value but cash value after depreciation.
Naturally because I work out of state I'm not there. Did talk to him over FaceTime. He's downplaying my concerns about structural integrity.
'The I've done so many inspections and blah blah blah it's not necessary'
Basically telling me he only concerns himself with visible damage.
Which is the part that I'm least concerned about it.
I just don't want a structurally unsound roof giving us all sorts of issues in a couple of years and then nobody cares and it's all our problem.
I'm sure that the 142mph wind measured less then a mile away at the local airport exceeds the rating of the roof structure.
So where do I go from here?
Plan of attack?
There is a 4-5 foot crack in the ceiling where the carport joins the house.
Every corner of the house shows cracks.

Build accordingly. On my land in Florida I have "blocks" to build a house. 2ft thick, 3ft high, 4ft long. Solid concrete.

Her in TN I am wanting to do a steel building with the imitation wood siding look. 150mph rated with the Florida spec impact windows.

We might get a big shake from New Madrid before I check out. We're over due.
