Anyone who uses a Lee Reloader press know it's a good light duty press that's really all you need for basic reloading. It's major flaw is the spent primer collection system. I just drilled a hole through the bench and let the primers fall through into a jar that I attached under the bench. Worked pretty well.
Was playing on EBay today and found a neat primer collection for the Reloader press. I think if I still had that press, I would give this a try.
Just to be clear, this is not mine. I don't know who is selling it. I just thought it was a nifty possible solution to a real problem with this press.
Pretty cool idea. I drilled holes for my 2 and put 1 1/4 " X 12"PVC pipe in mine. I had it laying around so used that. Takes a lot to fill them up. But it sucks if they get knocked out This is better I think
One reason why I'm glad I picked up the Classic 4-hole Turret. Just pull the red cap off the bottom end of the tube and let the spent primers fall in to a box under the bench.
My Lee O press came with something similar on it but got tired of emptying the tube so took some pvc pipe and rerouted the tub to the side of the bench and all primers fall into a coffee can now
I use the Lee Anniversary O press. Mounted the press on a 2X piece of wood and clamped it to my table. Primer catcher outlet is over the edge of the table and I run the tube into a trash can. Don't have to worry they just go out with the trash.
I have the same system after 2 or 3 reloading procedures I use a vacuum cleaner on the hole I also drilled in the bench, now its good for a few hundred more primers
I actually just made a run of some 30.06 plinking ammo for a new Howa. 30 rounds for a barrel break in. Not my rifle though. Doing break in runs for a friend. He bought the wife and kid new rifles so I'm breaking them in before he gives them to him.
I have been considering switching to off press priming. I don't throw powder on the press anymore either. I spent 4 days doing plinking ammo and it gave me an idea to change up the process of how I reload.
Still a thought in progress, but we'll see. Churning out so much rifle ammo lately has me wanting to run batches like I would with a single stage. Batch runs make my OCD brain happy.
As soon as I can get the money and make up my mind, I will probably be getting rid of my Lee Reloader. I "might" keep it around as a powder measure stand instead.
I liked my Reloader press, kind of miss it. It just no longer fits into my plans. I went back to the Lee Hand Press. The Hand press is a much slower press but it makes up for it with the portability.
