Using EBay I ordered an item on May 12th with guaranteed delivery by May 16th. My package seems to be on a road trip through the Midwest courtesy of the USPS. I live just south of St. Louis, MO and obviously it won't be delivered tomorrow either. I'm hoping it doesn't have to go to California before it finally gets here. Time for a new Postmaster General I think.

Just remember, your ebay sellers are the ones telling you what the delivery date is. I have the same problem with a few of those guys. The ebay guaranteed delivery thing is mostly bogus in all reality.

Recently it took an item I shipped about seven days to get from Utah to Iowa using United States Postal Service.

Air shipping prices increased 2-5 fold over the last month.
All this circle shipping may be an effort to keep it on trucks rather then air cargo.

Only thing they seem to deliver in a timely manner is junk mail (money in the bank for them). Locally they're fine, it's the interface between them, UPS, Fedex, Ebay, and Amazon that needs fixing. Maybe they need a Joint Chiefs of Staff like the military has to get things running smoothly? Although, that don't work so hot either. Oh wait, isn't that what the Postmaster General is for???

I am so spoiled by the 2 day shipping I get/got from Amazon. I get upset when things take another day or two now and sometimes it just sits in the main post office for another day until it goes out for delivery. I remember ordering crap in the "old days" and being told that it would take 2 to 4 WEEKS before I received it. That was the norm back then.

We ordered a new mattress and a mattress pad last week. Figured it would be awhile before we got it. Last night we finally got shipping information that it shipped. The mattress was here this morning. The pad shows it's still in CA at FedEx. Hopefully it gets here soon.

Have to love the way that UPS or FedEx drops things at the post office.
Our post office doesn't deliver except on a few routes out in the sticks. It's mail boxes, at the Post Office.

So you get the notice that something will be delivered today. And you get to the post office after closing time, and you either get a key to a locker where your box is, or you get a yellow slip telling you to pick it up at the desk....which is closed. No joy for you until tomorrow.
And a few months back, I had the key, but the locker it opened was empty. Some employee either took it out the back, or they missed the hole and put it in the locker adjoining mine. I'm betting on the latter. Either way, they didn't do squat about it. Primary Arms stepped up and sent the part again at no cost to me; I hope they got paid by the USPS for it.

Ours is open 24hrs but the desk is closed after hrs. We go to the back door ring the bell and they bring you the package. Most people don't know that. It's the same with UPS. Go to their warehouse and they will give you the package. FedEx doesn't have a shop here. You miss them they will drive that package 100 each way till you wait for them. If have the choice FedEx doesn't get my business.

Got some tax documents that had to be overnighted out to my mom. Paid $28 & change for this privilege. Got to Shreveport that following AM and was logged out 0710. It is a 35 minute drive north to my home town. Called the USPS Denver office and opened a complaint that it was MIA. It finally was available for her pickup on Friday AM. Called Denver back when I got off werk the following Monday, gave them the complaint #, and demanded that I be refunded anything over regular delivery. Got $27 check back from them.

What the heck, do you have postal gnomes living in the place? The boxes are open 24/7, but the desk closes up tight at 4:30, and they humans working there go home.

Denver ordered the USPS hub that serves all of Colorado and Wyoming to shut down due to 5 positive covid cases out of 1800 employees after they demanded access to inspect the facility and the PMG only gave them access to the customer lobby where all protocols were being observed. The Postal Service released a statement to the tune of, "This warehouse serves all of Colorado and Wyoming and is in full compliance with the governor's 'recommended' protocols and will remain fully operational." Full stop.

Like my trimmer parts that came from CA, were in Nashvulle then went to Seattle, then Kent, and no updates. 13 day trip.

An item was shipped from Brownell's to me on June 8th. Last I saw the package was in Pennsylvania somewhere yesterday. I hate the United States Postal Service now.

Edit: I just checked it again. The package is in Warrendale, Pennsylvania today. It's almost two weeks now to go further away from the destination. Estimated time of arrival is "Not Available."

I ordered 3 items from Amazon Wednesday, a cell phone belt case delivering via Amazon will be here today, holster for Cobra derringer is in Akron and shipped USPS (may get it Monday or Tuesday) and a grip also shipping USPS is sitting in New Jersey and it's saying they won't arrive until Aug 6 (delayed due to Covid-19).

USPS is most reliable here but we only have a part time person in the office form 8-11:30AM after that they are closed and only the lobby open to get to the boxes. I have rural delivery and a good mailman who knows to open the porch door and put packages inside, if I am not home to put them in the garage. Fedex is the worst here dumping packages all over town, UPS almost as bad doing the same thing.

I must agree with you Mary. Same here and I am only 5-7 miles outside of the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois. About 400,000 in these two counties I think.
Worst of all even before Covid is FedEx. UPS is better than, but I cannot understand how a UPS shipment to me arrives in the city, then is sent to Southern California or to New York. Twice since the first of the year. They also are too often missing or changing their delivery dates they give me on my UPS account. Mostly later than originally promised. USPS, far better for me at this time than either of above.

A side note. We have Amazon Prime delivery trucks in our area. I do not subscribe to Prime. BUT, a bunch of neighbors and others do in this area.
I keep finding Prime packages dumped on my door step. Some of the addresses on the packages are 2-7 miles from my house. Others are in the near area of 1 mile or less. Trying to call Amazon is shitty. They don't want to believe a driver would do this. So screw them. Last week alone I had 3 Amazon Prime shipments dropped here. After telling them for over 3 weeks they were delivering to wrong addresses. I warned them I will just take their packages 1/4 mile down my lane to the highway and leave them beside our mail box post. One I again took to their customer nearby. The other two I put down by the highway. Who got them I do not know. Nor ever will. I suspect one was a flat face TV and the other perhaps a computer.

Last week, I also caught two different Amazon drivers coming up to my house. One I had caught twice before. Second I had never seen before.
Both were of African descent and had little English they could understand. Seems they could barely even read. Thank God I do not subscribe to Amazon Prime!!!

I ordered a Wasr from Classic Firearms and repeatedly checked the delivery status to the FFL over the course of the day. My blood boiled when the status said that the business was closed and that it would be delivered the next day. I called the FFL, and, as expected, they had not been closed at any point during the day. I called FedEx's customer service to tell them to get that driver back over there, and they did. At least the customer service rep was on it because their lazy-ass driver sure wasn't.

I also had a UPS driver return-to-sender a package from Midway two times in a row because of "a problem with the address." What a load of crap that was. I called their customer service and told them to just turn the damn thing back around, but that was apparently impossible. Midway was good about it and reshipped the same thing two times before I finally got it. I hope that Midway got on UPS's ass about that.
