I just think a .223 hi-point would be another very reliable platform. You know it would love to play in the dirt and keep shooting. I'd get one for everyone in my family.
The Germans at the end of WWII had a Volkssturmgewehr in 7.92x33 that worked as a gas delayed blowback. I've seen pix of it disassembled + the schematic on it. The gas delayed blowback isn't rocket science and the FCG could easily be changed for AR15 style to reduce prices even more.
Probably not much chance of seeing anything but handgun calibers. But that still leaves lots of possibilities. I vote biiiig bore, 50ae, 50 beo, 458 socom, hell even 45 LC
Ya know? The 45 LC would be a great idea.... all they would have to do is just lengthen the chambering a bit for it on the gun work itself. Of course, that would mean making the grip bigger and also making the magazines to fit.... Maybe then we could get some hi cap mags for it....
After looking at one of the 45 LC cases I have here, you're right... Well, there goes that idea. The whole bolt face would have to be reworked to allow for the headspacing....
I guess it does not, but to keep the price in the Hi-Price range using an existing design might help the price point. But then look at the Keltec SU-16 it is a simple made 223 that is not blow back...
And while we're at it can we get a Hummer with 50 MPG? I mean cmon! If hi Point can't keep up with the rest of it's line and never mind the 4595 How will they ever come up with something tottaly different?
This would be real simple for hi point to implement. uses same mags, frame, bolt etc as a .40 S&W, the only change would be barrel and maybe feed ramp. Just a thought.
It is a great idea.... Mike at High Point brought this one up on the old forum.
