Hot damn! Great weather forecast today, and it's time to clean out the garden(s) and assess whether winter damaged the house. Yesterday I poured two 4' footings for one of the porches, and I'll be replacing a rotted wood column with one of those new-fangled composite jobbies - those things are amazing! Happy Saturday everyone!

Working. Sitting in a pile of soil in the rain, potting up 100's of grape vines, currant bushes, blackberry bushes, etc. Interspersed with selling people plants and helping them with their landscape and garden designs and/or problems. And I kind of hope its slow and rainy today because *shocker* I have a wee bit of a hangover.

Repairing the damage on my truck that my SIL caused when he got a blow out at 75mph. Won't pass inspection till I fix it.

Decided to modify the design on the coop with some furring strips on the outside to keep the mesh better supported and build ladder-type roosting bars. Ran out of staples and said fugit. I don't feel like going out to buy more right now.

Got the site work done for porch footings, looked at one of the roofs and see I've got to call my slate guy, had a lil' ice damage. This afternoon I decided to change out the water and clean the hot tub. The weather turned and what should have been a reasonable task turned into a miserably cold PITA, but it's all done. Might have my coffee in there tomorrow morning. :)

Spent some time at my MCL with my SubVet gang before removing an old bug shield from my 11 year old Edge. Dayum, that 3M permanent adhesive is tough to remove.
Have a good day all and God bless.

This AM, the forecast is for sleet or freezing rain, transitioning to just freezing rain in the evening. Yuck. Glad I got a chunk of the outdoors stuff done yesterday!

It was 70 and the wind never showed up so I finished up most of the coop. Still have to button up a 2ft section. Could have finished it up after dinner, but nah. Now it's really just a matter of building the roosting bars.

Had to help my buddy file his unemployment benefits. Then I had to hook up the sump pump and pump out lake Evil aka our drive way. That took 2 hrs. Will repeat several times Till the snow and ice melt. I've done it 2x now. Won't have any issues once the ground thaws.

Well, I made the chickens happy.

Building Wood Tree House Mesh

Then I had to go to buy animal feed. Scratch grains, pellets, doggy chow. On the way home in a 50 mph headwind I was attacked by tumbleweeds. It sounds retarded, but I love watching tumbleweeds. Except for that asshole one that came at me stalk first and chipped my windshield.

With the wind being what it is I decided I might want to tie down the trampoline. Turned the corner, rope in hand and....it handled itself.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the power is out. Tree limbs down, fires everywhere. Got word my application to the fire department is being reviewed and my references are being checked. Next phone call will be to schedule the formal interview.

Word has it the highest recorded wind gusts yesterday at the municipal airport a mile or so from my house was only 78mph with 65mph sustained. Supposed to stay below 14mph today, so I might go shooting later.
