I am having a hard time seeing through the rear sight. I can see thru the rear sight on my son’s AR but the hole is larger. Is there a different sight with a larger opening available from Hi Point or what else can be done?
I have drilled out or changed sight inserts on several of my firearms. A fine aperture is good for precision. A "ghost ring" is better for quick closer shots. And still accurate enough at longer ranges, within reason. Your eye will naturally center the front right in the middle of the rear sight where the light is brightest anyways.
As eyes age, they do appreciate a larger aperture.
Correction: I intended to say the red dot sight is worthless. With an astigmatism you don't see a dot, you see a slash. That 2 MOAvred dot easily becomes a 4 or even 6 MOA slash.
A slash is what I see too. I thought a hair was caught in the sight...lol !!!
