I am having a hard time seeing through the rear sight. I can see thru the rear sight on my son’s AR but the hole is larger. Is there a different sight with a larger opening available from Hi Point or what else can be done?

Lots of cheap optics out there that work fine.

I have drilled out or changed sight inserts on several of my firearms. A fine aperture is good for precision. A "ghost ring" is better for quick closer shots. And still accurate enough at longer ranges, within reason. Your eye will naturally center the front right in the middle of the rear sight where the light is brightest anyways.

As eyes age, they do appreciate a larger aperture.

If you think you need a larger aperture you're either bragging, or dreaming :stir:

I only saw one dot...but it was not a dot. it was a slash.

I guess prism sights work with astigmatism.
