Hello all, I do like to tinker(safely) so had a spare 1911 mag laying around so I decided to perform surgery on it. I carefully cut a couple slits near the mag release hole and lifted up and created a lip similar to the hi-point lip, tried it at home and it nicely clicked in and stayed open as it is supposed to.went to the range today it performed perfect. Fed every round and stayed open last shot fired, never dropped out during firing and i used reloads with 200 grain SWC , I now have a 2nd mag and it looks cool without the battery pack sticking out.
