Some of you may have seen my 1911 conversion catch for the 4595 carbine. It is officially now available for the 45 JHP Pistol as well! Email me for details if you would like to get your hands on one or a dozen! Watch the video below to see just how easy it is to make the swap!:D

Does $30. Include a mag? Or just the release and spring?

Pretty slick. I may have to order one. Have you tried it in the 40. Do they make magazines for the 40 that work.

The 40 and 45 share the same frame and magazine-ish. The difference in the magazines is just at the feed lips. (A friend of mine has the 40 carbine) I hypothesize that you could modify a 45 1911 mag to feed 40. In that case (hypothetically) my mag catch would allow for it to work. However, I don't know of any 40 cal 1911s, if you wanted to swap mags which is what what I like to do with my 1911s and HiPoint.

    You could try 10mm 1911 mags .

    1911 mags in 40 s&w

With the conversion would these in 40 work in the hi point. Any suggestions on best 1911 45 mags to use with the conversion

Logic might dictate .40S&W 1911 mags would work. Or maybe not?

I would imagine they would work if the the catch slot on the magazine is identical to a 45 mag catch slot. As long as they use mil spect dimensions on the 40 1911s the distances should be the same. In theory.

Is the 9mm the same size frame with a smaller magwell milled/molded in it? The only thing I am concerned about with my carbine is the quality of the magazines. The capability to run Mec gar magazines would make me.feel a lot better.

Well it looks like I may be forced to stop making these catches. My machinist that did part of the work went under :-(

You could always sell it to, or partner up with one of the other HP fab companies...
