Best "mid-level" : ParaOrdnance and Springfield Armory
Best "budget" : RIA and Taurus.

You get a lot for your money with a Taurus. I own both a Nighthawk and a ParaOrd, and I actually prefer the ParaOrd. Call me crazy.
