Decided to post another here. This M38 was issued, but like many of the Husqvarna M38, very little to no usage. Received it from collector of German Mausers on Gun Boards. He ended up with it from some deal he made.

Rifle was still in the grease from when it was prepared for sale to here in 1974. Never been used since it was crated for shipment. Still has not been. The paper sticker of 74 is still clean and attached.

I bought it for only $434 shipped plus $10 transfer fee. :D
A few various pics of it.

Yes, it pretty much is. I've got other Swedes in same or better condition. Including
a few more rare ones. I'll post a few more to see.

Mole, yes, it is 6.5x55 Swedish caliber. That bullet with it's long length will reach out and touch you. :D

Mostly I shoot an M96 because I usually shoot at 200 to 350 yards. Little recoil at all.
I load all my own in several bullet weights with different powders. Takes a lot of reloading to feed all these Swedes. Got at least a dozen of them.

  9. That is VERY nice, and the price was incredible. Great score!

That is one absolutely amazing find. I'd love to find a gem like that, at such a nice price.

I'm gonna be thinning the herd before long. Gotta see what I have in the M38 and the M96. I have a number of Swedes just as nice or nicer. Some are Swedish Mausers set up as target rifles for the FSR in Sweden years ago.

If interested in some thing, let me know. See what I may have of interest. :)

In about six months, I'll be in a better position to look into it. I hope that you won't have thinned things out too much by then.

I bought my 6.5 around early middle 90s. For 79$ it was also brand new. The metal work and bluing Is like a work of art.
