After a very long search for a reasonably priced JA 9, I found one. Took it to the range and I was pleasantly surprised with the gun. Shot 25 rounds each Blazer 115gr FMJ and American Eagle Federal 124gr FMJ.

Probably doesn't mean much right now (small sample) but the 124gr had a very nice group.

The JA 9 grip is really chunky.

For a SNS the sights are not too bad.

The issues I did have (less than a handful), I am almost certain were magazine related.

I seem to recall some long term durability issues.

Will be fun to compare how I shoot the JA 9 and the C9 :)

I was better with a C9, but not by much.

Be careful if you disassemble the JA9, the left grip holds lots of parts in place, and in particular the mag release button. The release spring is just sitting on a shelf and falls out with no warning, and it can be a PITA to get back in place. I use a WD-40 spray tube to position it.

Thank you for the heads up, regarding the magazine release spring. Definitely seems to be a SNS thing with magazine release springs being a real pain the backside.

Haven't shot the C9 in awhile.

Now I need to find a reasonably priced L9....LOL!

Well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I get it.

I took these pics ten years ago when I started collecting SNS. The J-Nine is gone as is the L9. Of all the guns I regret parting with, the L9 isn't one of them. If I found a Jennings/Jimenez Nine for reasonable (real cheap) money, I'd probably pick it up.

The L9 has to be one of the ugliest looking guns ever. Clerke First are right up there in the terrible looks department.

@CulperRing and the L9 is not a comfortable pistol to shoot. The grip safety is poorly designed and bites the web of your hand. But if you're jonesing for a rare Lorcin, go for the LH-380: the same frame & slide as the L9 in .380.
