So Florida just took the money out of my account for my CC license, is that a sign it went through OK or does that happen even if it gets rejected? Which the background check should have been fine as I have a security clearance with the Air Force.

Its to my understanding that it gets taken out regaurdless.
Lame, is there any kind of notice if it didn't go through OK or is their form of notice the fact that you didn't get it?
I have heard from someone else in florida you can check the status online... I have no Idea where... You might be able to go to opencarry.org and go to the Florida Forum... there might be people there to help you. I know in michigan the money is an application fee.. you lose it regardless of outcome. I am sure they will notify you with either outcome.
A friend of mine just retired from NSA. One of his jobs was to check security clearance applications, which I had a fairly high one since I flew reconnaissance in the USAF. He told me that the reason I had to have so many fingerprintings is that each area we worked for (NSA, CIA, DIA, and SAC) do not share any information on clearances. They each do their own. So, the clearance may be activated fairly easily having had one, but the one for a state license is a fresh start as well. It is not like on CSI TV shows - Not everyone one shares fingerprints into one huge database. Same with the dosiers. Just thought I would tell you what he told me.

Isn't GA shall-issue? I would imagine you should know if you won't pass the eligibility requirements :p
Well it's all good now, I got my license!!!
andro how long did you have to wait to receive your license
I am curious about this too, as you applied for it while I was deployed right? You got the license right before I left to move to Alaska, I remember the day you got it. Once the wife and I get a house, I plan on sending in the applications for both her and I so we're legal in Alaska. My NM permit covers Alaska too, so I'd be double covered. I just want to get Krystal legal in this state so she can start carrying my Charter Arms .357 as a purse gun.
I thought AK was one of those states where you could carry concealed without a permit
does alaska still honor florida ccw?
Yeah, I believe they honor every states ccw.
