I already have the C9 & wanted to get another cheap handgun so I figured I would get a .380.

During my search I found a New 380 Comp for $139 (even comes with an extra 10 round mag). What is the deal with the Compensator? Is it for recoil or what exactly?

Has anyone shot both? I am trying to figure out if it's worth dropping the extra $30 for the one with the Compensator.

It might help with recoil a little, but it's mainly looks. The comp models are pretty tough to come by these days, so I'd probably get it. (If I wanted a .380)

the 380Comp is a rarity in the current market. Honestly, I don't think the compensator does anything other than change the look or the gun. However, having the comp. bolted on does gain you about 1" of barrel, so that's a plus.

I have the CF380 and trust my life to it. I have never had so much as a jam with it. I would say get the comp. If you don't like it, think it's ugly, etc. I KNOW you can sell it to someone on HPFF and make a few bucks on the deal!

cheers,
Kyu
