Just took the CF380 down. When I put it back together it had a new rattle. Can't find it, seems to be in the upper grip area. Works fine and goes away when magazine inserted. Anybody else have this?

  2. I think that's the drop safety rattling. Does it on my C9.

Just noticing this? All Hi-Points have a counter-weight (long bar running the length of the back strap with little bent wire that sits under the sear). They all rattle. Remove the mag, shove your finger up there, hold the counter-weight in place and shake your gun. Did the rattle go away? Then all is normal.

Nope, this is a new rattle, not the counter weight???

Did you try talking sternly to it?

    Really, try what cicpup said.

If it still rattles...take it apart and try again.

Oh...and do a function check before you tear it down. Maybe it rattles differently now because you cleaned out the crud that was sticking the parts together?

Then the only other option is you put it back together wrong.

Found the culprit. Under the right grip panel. Magazine catch spring out of its slot. All good now.
