Well took my new green 40 to the range. On the up side its wicked accurate and when running properly it was flawless. The problem appears yo be in the mag catch. Mags want to walk out during firing and double feed. The flush mag would not drop free. Im going to send it to mom. Seems a simple fix. But like I said the groups it held were tight.

Haven't shot more than 2 mags in each of my 40's, but I had no problems. You mentioned that you had more than 1 mag? Are you having problems with both mags or just one?

Get yer hand off the mag release!;)

Seriously, a high grip as used on tactical guns can put your hands in position to put pressure on the release. You either change your grip, or file down the release.

Now, if that isn't really the issue...try loading one or two less rounds in the mag, smack it in good, and see if it seats better. It may just need some break in time.

That is not good at all. Was he using reloads?

I would be surprised if it's not a reload?

Up date. I removed the mag catch and there was a ridge of metal along it where the mag locks in. I sanded ti smooth and squared the edges. Per thingmeister I used a new spring for it. Now when the mags go in there is an audible click as it locks. This may have solved my issue. Ill return to the range and see this weekend

Then it sounds like a good round went off behind a bullet that a squib load left lodged in the barrel. It's a good thing that not more than a cracked barrel resulted.
