I have to say, I just purchased a 4595TS, then, I purchased the cheapest 45acp, I could find, I shot maybe 2 clips thru it, and it fired flawlessly. In addition, I am a reloader, with my own cast bullets, using a dual cavity, 230 grain Lee mold. So I loaded up about 20 rounds, and they fired beautifully, and accuracy was as good as "I" am capable of. It is an absolute blast to shoot. AND as a side bar, I also have a hi point c-9, that I love. I was breaking down my C9 the other week and lost a part, I called them and they sent me 2 replacement 2 no cost, no questions ask.
Quite simply, they are in-expensive, reliable, and customer service 2nd to none. The FFL that performed transfer, is a gun snob, and he said I hope your not going to try to defend yourself or your home with this. He said they are big and bulky, and cheap. And I said you are correct, but I personally, like the looks, and I would NOT stand in front of one and see if it shoots or not, and he wouldn't either. They have loose tolerances, and are simple in design, wow, that is the same basic beauty of and AK-47. You just shoot these guns and break down and clean once in a while, run a bore brush down the barrel after every gun shooting session, and you are fine.

Have fun with that 4595.

I've run into gun snobs at some firing ranges before. I always make sure I laugh loud enough when their Glock/Kimber/1911 jams up, while I keep plinking away. They just don't get it.

Don't know if its changed, but it used to be when going for a conceal carry permit that some instructors wouldn't/won't allow a HP, Jimenez, Davis, Lorcin, Taurus, and others to be used in the shooting portion of the class, to get a conceal permit.

OP, am on my 2nd 4595, and have sold two, and given away a forth. They are ugly but have better mags out of the box than the STEN, which is their spiritual ancestor. I delight in converting mine to run 1911 mags w/ Thingmeister's mag catch conversion, gave my BIL a 40 round 1911 ProMag drum for Christmas that fits his Rock Island and his 4595.

People who bag on Hi Points have most likely never shot them. The triggers might be spongy and have horrible resets, but the guns work, and they work well. I got sideways looks and some comments when I picked up my JHP45 and 4595TS from the FFL, but I waved the comments away. My money, my guns and my own satisfaction with the products are all that matter.

I've haven't heard that about Taurus. But I have heard that about HP, Jennings/.Jimenez, Davis, and Lorcin to the point where up in mAssachooshitz, there were a few range officers who wouldn't allow them on the line.

I also feel that Hi-Points are gaining more acceptance, particularly due to the carbines performance, which leads to pistols being accepted.

I wonder why your FFL decides to sell something that he considers "cheap"? Glad you like your rifle, and yes, I agree with you. Besides, these rifles are not pieces of junk....they have too good of a reputation.

Glad you like your 4595. I love my 4595 and could care less what the gun snobs think. It's accuarate, reliable, and easy to maintain. Not to mention it is a whole lot of fun to shoot.

By the way, I have 2 Taurus semi-auto handguns (9mm and 40S&W) and used the 40S&W for my CCW training. Instrucor was retired military weapons instructor and he had very good things to say about Taurus. Really enjoy shooting both of my Tauruses.

I love these guns, the way they look, even the trigger. The biggest downside to me is magazine capacity, I have a CZ, and Glock, which have great capacity, but C9, shoots just as well as my glock, the trigger on my CZ is better, but again, my C9 will shoot just as well as any of my other guns.
