7.62 x 54 soft point for hunting

If you don't think a 30.06 or a 7.62 x 51 (.308) is powerful enough, then you won't like a 7.62 x 54 Russian, because they have nearly the same ballistics. The main difference is that the 30.06 and the .308 are rimless.

The 7.62 x 54 is suitable for most all North American big game. Although I'd rather have a 300 Norma Magnum if I were going after Kodiak bear.
