    I have seen therapy animals in action. My sister and my niece have therapy/assistance dogs and are very useful. I have seen children traumatized, relax and interact with a dog or a cat when another person can't get thru. YES it is a good thing and these folks over there do need it

    I think they should save them for some of our own traumatised troops.

    THAT'S what they are for.... Our own troops. It sorta gives them a chance to talk with someone if they feel like it and the dogs can break the ice in a way.
    I have seen children who have been thru hell sit around and won't talk with a person turn around and talk to a dog and tell them what is on their mind and it helps them a lot.
