I'm thinking 2 shots with the second being high for the armadillo. Accidentally of course.

All of it. I have shot many a dillo and I have never had a shot ricochet. A 22 will penetrate the shell every time.

It depends on what kind of .22 one is shooting ~ .22 Shorts often bounced off and, .22 Longs sometimes ricocheted.

And, the angle also was important ~ if you hit a sloping/glancing surface, the bullet would skim the 'armor plate' and go heaven-knows-where!

22 LR HV, and never had one glance off.

  6. I keep hearing more and more about richochets.
So do you think they are happening more? Or are the news agency's making sure to report every one?

    Well, com'on!

You're using High Velocity .22 Long Rifle ammo!

    That stuff costs too much!

We were raised poor, so our .22's were bought cheap!

    .22 Shorts were $0.30/box and .22 Longs were $0.40/box.

    For 50 cartridges each box!

That High Velocity stuff was $1.00 or more a box!

    *Shake muh haid*

    Scared of 'em?

Heck, we used to sneak up on 'em and grab them by their tails!

Great way to get a dirt and stone shower as they tried to dig in.

Of course, much, much later, we found out that 'dillos sometimes transmit leprosy...

    Ewwww...

    :p

So, he shoots his 9mm, ricochets off an armadillo, hits a fence (not sure if ricochet or traveled though), through a door AND a recliner and hits her in the back.... 100 yards away.

Gotta raise the BS flag on this one
