So I just recently noticed this in the barrel. Just for details, wasr 10 barrel, chrome lined, brand new gun. Only about 150 rounds so far. It doesn't appear to be rust. Put a little oil on a q tip and scrubbed over it but didn't get that orangish color. Just wondering what it could be. Lacquer from the case of the steel ammunition.

So I guess a good cleaning is to be had.

That would be my guess too. Especially since your only at 150 rounds.

That's what I was worried of, but it didn't appear to have any debris.

The chamber, which is what is pictured, is not chrome lined.. only the barrel is. ;)

Its just lacquer residue. Some brands leave behind much more than others. A good cleaning is all it needs.

    Wasr's aren't chrome barrels.

Things change all the time. For the past decade, wasr's were not chrome lined. Any many still aren't. A manufacturer is now doing it ( likely using their own now US made barrels actually).
    Its progress.

Never once did the word expert come out of my mouth.

People call Odumbass a leader, doesnt give it much validity either.

I've always heard of the wasrs being chrome lined. The only one I thought weren't were the Yugos.

The ammo I've been using though is tulammo. On a slight drift, last box I bought from wal mart was the last x39 on the shelf and it was a 40rd box for the same $9.97 price. It's my first time seeing anything other than the 20rd in Tula.

That's weird that you're getting coating in your chamber from TulAmmo. They use a poly coating, and it isn't supposed to melt like lacquer does. I've never had it leave residue in either my Saigas or my SKS.

I've never had issues with Tul either, but I've never had issues with Bear either until the last case i bought and it was terrible.

Its definitely possible the batch you picked up was over coated and thicker than usual.
Are you using a cleaner that might be leaving a residue behind maybe?
