I just love articles that say nothing but "this might or might not be a good or a bad thing, some things may affect your decision, and you should try things out for yourself."

Well.. They're not wrong.

When it's in your inside coat pocket, cross is all you got.

I actually think that's a good idea. I've seen too many prognosticate that this-or-that is the "right way" or "the best" but far too few saying "these are your options and these are the advantages & disadvantages of them, now go make an informed decision that fits you."

Of course, it requires the reader to not be a total idiot and to have an IQ of at least 80 or so. ;)

Many old cops used to do the Cross Draw. And then they moved on the first time they got into a wrestling match with someone. Yes, it add time to draw from what's already a bad tactical situation, but the biggest issue they always reported was that the weapon is less defensible (In short, you're struggling with someone, and they always try to grab for it).

Good point. It is also worth noting that the needs and requirements of a Self Defense interested person are different from those of LEO.

As near as I can tell, LEO "use of force" situations which involve wrestling matches are most likely more common than those of non-LEO "self defense" encounters which involve wrestling matches. How much? No one really knows. Is it close enough to apply LEO "best practices" to non-LEO self defense? I don't know. Maybe. But what I do know is that using LEO best practices as a model for non-LEO is a limited tool, at best. :)

I have two Alien gear Paddle Holsters. I hate them.

Now it's not really Alien Gears fault because I hate paddle holsters to begin with but I have a terrible habit called insomnia. I don't take ambien but I guess I buy stufff in the middle of the night.

I have a right and left hand holster

They are in my box of "gun stuff".

I am stove up from being in the middle of a bedroom remodel but I will post them up and be glad to send them to someone that needs them for a full sized 1911.

Except...they DON'T really inform you beyond saying here's this, and stuff might affect it, and here's that, and other stuff might affect it...it's pretty un-informative, really.

I mean, basically, the entire thing could be reduced to this...there are several options for carrying a gun, including appendix carry, cross draw, IWB strong side, pocket carry, SOB, and others....you should use the one you think works best. Lotsa Luck!

It's like saying there are several forms of martial arts, listing some names, and saying some use more leg strikes, some require more flexibility, some are more about submission, some are competition styles...chose one.
