are there any pop up style/compact sights that can be used with the stock front post? I'm thinking bout removing the stock rear sight to make room for a small scope/red dot, but id like to be able to keep the irons just in case

I put a full length top picatinny rail on my 4095TS & put a set of flip up sights with a red dot. Wasn't really interested in keeping the front sight.
I recently received a Longshot full length barrel shroud & a Brass Mag Release & Brass Charging Handle to put on soon.

    Similar "macho" setup...

I also have the full length top rail. Sprung for like $25 cheap flip up sights (both front and rear for $25) and they're the Magpul Gen 2 knockoffs. Put a holographic red dot on the top and Looks really good. With the double sights, I got rid of the front iron sight and put a barrel cover on the front. Dialing in the sights this weekend. Can't wait!

thats not a bad idea. what if instead of lowering the front sight down 3/8 of an inch, what if you put a small riser on the UTG rear sight? or would that go too high?

OK, I am back, and I see my lovely assistant has provided the link!
    THANKS TRACY!!! :D
Yes, DXR, that is a great idea, and my son stated that the new UTG was
too low for him, and it is a bit harder to get a proper cheek weld even for
me, but it works and is very consistent. I would feel better with a riser
or better yet, Longshot makes a raised rail for the carbines that is taller
than the stock. I believe that would be the best solution of all. I do not
know for sure how much it is lower than the stock MOM sight, but I'm
thinking somewhere around 1/4 to 3/8 but then again, you are back in
the range of the stock front sight, it's dead in the middle of it's range
of adjustments. It can go up or down around 3/16" iirc.

i may have to try that. im blind as a bat, so the stock peep sight is a nightmare for me at long range, but i dont want to invest in a scope/red dot/ holographic yet

For a different angle here is what i did. I use the body of the red dot sight as a rear sight. If ya look closely you can see a white line on the back of of it. After filing out the hole used to adjust the front sight, allowing me to raise it just a bit more, it now co-witnesses with the white line at the rear. Works ok for 25 to 50 yards and my ole eyes.

I have that cheap rear sight on my AR... what measurement do you need?? I never thought about trying it on my 995... The only complaint I have about the 995's rear sight is in sunlight it has a glare...

Top of rail to center of aperture would be great!
Then it can be compared to the "railroad bridge" HP sight.

Looks like about 1.460" (give or take .010" due to eyeballing)
