About the 10 detained US Navy Sailors who were captured by the Iranian Navy , one of the sailors was a female . Supposedly these Sailors were aboard two small patrol boats when one of the boats broke down . According to CNN both boats drifted into Iranian territorial waters

This is when the Iranian Navy seized both boats and detained the ten sailors . CNN stated that there is talk over possible release of the ten sailors at first light

I first heard about this at my local VA while watching tv in the food court . There was quite a few Veterans also watching this and they were not happy at all over this . What pisses me off was during the Presidents speech tonite he made no mention at all over this incident with IRAN . He did mention the nuclear talks with IRAN though !!!!!

The POTUS is a complete incompetent, anti american islamic sympathizer that is more interested in controlling the american people and unleashing his socialist agenda while destroying our civil liberties than he is interested in the lives of 10 american sailors. I pray for them and for this country.

Its kind of sad....no, its REALLY sad...that ALL the news programs now are stark raving schills for whoever will pay their ad prices.

I can't find a news channel to watch, I just can't stand the utterly insipid questions they ask, and the ridiculous conclusions they draw based on nothing but innuendo and half baked "investigating".

I don't care if its CNN, MSNBC or FOX, they are ALL bat crap crazy. The only difference to me is the direction they go when they head for the loony bin.

If the Iranians rescued our sailors after their boats broke down and they drifted into Iranian waters, then let them go after 1 day...

    What's the big deal?

I hope that's sarcasm...... They arrested them. Detained them at gun point on their knees.... Made a half ass hostage video, with a BS apology given by the Officer. I call shenanigans on helpful friendly Iranis helping stranded sailors.... This was a flex our muscles, at a balless US administration action.

Or the sailors broke down or ran out of fuel in the wrong place, and the Iranians thought they were spies looking to infiltrate their coastline.

I do know this...if you stop a US Navy boat in your territory full of guys in brown t shirts that look like the SEALS and sailors in all the movies...you don't just walk up with your junk hanging out. You strap up and treat them as a hostile threat until proven otherwise.

Truth is (for all we know) they were in Iranian waters and the Iranians weren't sure what was going on.

A couple of the news reports I've read have statements by the NAVY and by the SAILORS involved that the sailors were in the wrong place. The politicians and media are all emphasizing the idea that it's Iran flexing muscles...but I don't trust the media, nor the politicians, so I'm not sure what the truth is.

Sure not going to jump up and down waving my fist like a fool on nothing but rumors.

I also find it utterly disgusting how Kerry and the other politicians are patting themselves on the back for their great "diplomatic victory" in persuading the Iranians to "free" the crews.

Iran violated international treaty by forcing the female sailor to wear a hijab and, again, by releasing video of the prisoners. While not quite an Act of War, imo, it's at the same level as the Abu Ghraib incident, legally speaking.

Yes. Absolutely. What would WE do if the situation were reversed?

Unless there is a specific lie being told and cooperation from all media sources, including international ones, then the boats they were on were somehow disabled, most likely broke down, and had drifted in to Iranian waters. I find this troubling. Apparently the weekend fisherman's $1,000 bass boat is more reliable than the POS crap we are equipping our navy with if both of them manage to break down. :p

Iran violated international treaty by forcing the female sailor to ware a hijab and by releasing images of the prisoners.

The fact that they released these images and video, in direct violation of international treaty, can have no other reason then propaganda. Iran is, indisputably, flexing their international muscle, trying to make the U.S. look weak and indecisive, and attempting to score points both abroad and within their own nation.

    Peace favor your sword,
    Kirk

Or...they released video showing that no one was being beaten, no one had been shot or butt stroked into compliance, specifically to ensure that bullets didn't start flying.

Maybe they covered the woman's head for the same reason we toss a blanket over the guy arrested for streaking through a baseball game...they considered it a form of modesty?

Is there REALLY a treaty saying they can't cover up a naked head? What about clothing in general? I mean...if a naked torso or a naked head is going to incite the same feelings of outrage in a crew of guys with guns...maybe covering her up was for her protection?

Like I said...we don't know everything, we don't understand many things, the media certainly can't be trusted to ask the right questions, and those answering questions on both sides of the border certainly can't be trusted to tell the truth.
