I like the feel of it. It just feels more solid. It also for me gives a more natural sight picture. All in all it is the best single improvement I have done to the 995!!!!

P.S. Make sure to get the Buttpad for the ATI stock if you do decide to go that route.

imho it has 50% less recoil my guess is from the extra weight of the stock. everyone recomends the ati buttpad but i personally like it without. get it and try it both ways. I think as stated before it feels a lot more solid and def more comfortable. plus the obvious it looks like a cx4.

Bah! I prefer the original stock over the ATI for several reasons:

-The ATI is thought to have not enough give to the poly frame, causing potential damage. Of course hp will cover our warranties no questions asked like always, but I never put my weapon in damage's way if I can help it

-It LOOKS COOL ALREADY! Four words from star wars: storm trooper blaster carbine. Need I say more?
-Pride. I honestly feel that the HP995 is one of the best pistol caliber carbines on the market if not the best. And, I gladly show other shooters that for a third the cost of their kel tec or baretta, they can get the same caliber with better service. Besides, if I wanted a gun that looked like a CX9, I would've bought a CX9!

I wouldn't dream of giving someone a buttstroke with the factory stock. The ATI would have no trouble clubbing someone into submission. I like the looks of the ATI, but I also like the looks of the HP stock - but all things being equal, I will always pick the sturdier option. The Hi Point stock has incredible ergonomics and handling, but the ATI only gives up a slight advantage there. The Hi Point stock is just made out of too flimsy a material. If they made it out of something substantial, it would be different.

+1 on more comfortable and easier sight picture. I did put the ATI buttpad on which made it just a bit longer. The length, to me, made all the difference.

Prefer the original myself...Neo I happen to think it looks a bit more like the clone troopers weapons in The Clone Wars....Still it has a retro-futeristic look to it.

I think I'm probably going to end up buying the ATI, just not for a while, thanks for the input folks. I will keep the factory stock handy though so I can play dress up with my carbine.

Keep us informed I'd like to hear your range range!
Given the amount of funding allocated towards shooting related purchases during the family budget planning meeting last night you may be waiting a while for that range report. I can appeal the budgetary decision with the chair woman, but may end up recording a few shooting expenses as "Ace Hardware" or "529 Contribution". We shall see.

When I fired my 995 in the factory skin it was alright but after the ATI stock it was far more rigid. I did not notice how lite the reciol was until after the ATI was installed.
