OK, I have been a lurker here for a while. I actually think this may be my first post to the forum... I bought my my carbine about 5 years ago, and shortly afterwards, bought my ATI stock. I have put quite a few rounds through it (in 20 round Red Balls), and loving every minute of it, but every time I shoot, I think about that stock waiting for it. I tried to install it, but couldn't figure where to make the relief for the "last round hold open".
Well, I just got my stock out and looked at it again, and it appears the relief cut should go just above the Mag Release opening. I see a scratch there from when I tried to install it before. I have already cut the relief in forend, and aside from the relief for the "Hold Open", it should be ready to go. My question is, How much of a relief is needed?
If anyone has an image from their build, it would be helpful...

Welcome!!!

I have no idea how big the relief should be, but you could just try and measure how much it sticks out from the receiver and take that much, plus maybe .005" to .010" more and then test fit it. It's mostly been done by the peeps here, on the Monkey Gun stocks. Same difference I'd imagine :D

Anyhow, welcome back and glad you finally posted!!

Well, I finally got it fitted. It took a lot more material removal than I expected in places I have not seen discussed anywhere else, but it fits... ALMOST. Everything fits, and it pins together, but the cover doesn't fit. The front pin won't go in but about halfway, and the cover seems to rock back and forth on top of the stock. It appears the stock is too proud where the front of the cover joins. So, almost home with it, and I WILL get there!

Turns out, I had to cut the relief all the way down to the Mag Release opening. I wasn't expecting that. Hope it doesn't compromise the stock integrity.
