Very bad for ALL gun owners!!! If this somehow passes... it's a nice model for the Anti-Gun's to spread throughout the rest of the country. Remember Pres. Obama said he didn't want to take away your guns.... he NEVER said he wouldn't make it too expensive for you to own them! This way it would be "your choice" wether to own a gun or not..... how convenient......

notice its amending the FOID act. as of yet, noother state has fallen for that shenanigan either. as for the liability insurance, what company would ever provide it? its way too ambiguous to ever be practical. all the bill states is "negligent or willful acts while in ownership". therefore anything that has to do with that gun is under perview of a the insurance company. there is no way even a big insureer is going to accept that kind of liability risk in the curent fiscal climate.

What have you done to see that it doesn't pass?

Have you called your legislators? Have you called all your friends to do so? Are you planning a march on the capitol? Are you getting the signs ready for that march? Ultimately we have to be VERY pro-active. Every State counts. Illinois must return the power to the people instead of the urban machine. Good luck!

SW, The Govs did that once before. The History channel had a show on the history of marijuana (don't ask me why I watched it :embarrassed2:) BUT ANYWAY.... before it was totally illegal you had to have a permit for it, but no one issued the permits. You had to take your pot to apply for a "permit" but if you took your pot you were breaking the law because you didn't have a permit!!!! Only in America!!!

kind of like the vehicle inspection laws SD fell for in the 70s. you had to take your vehicle in once per year and have it inspected for safety purposes and be issued a 10$ permit. but how did you get your car to the inspection in the first place?

Chicago, IL has become the murder capital of the nation, in spite of their draconian firearms laws.

The gun confiscating moonbats are fit to be tied and this bit of legislation is yet another attempt to "do something" about "gun violence."

Politicians routinely float these spitballs to test the water and look good to their constituents. Co-sponsors are nowhere to be found and the bill never gets out of committee.

Even politicians can calculate that you cannot mandate something that doesn't exist - there are no companies writing such policies and zero likelihood that any ever would.

In the end these attempts only serve to demonstrate how truly idiotic politicians can be and inspire ever more citizens to buy a handgun of their own - liberals seldom pay attention to the law of unintended consequences...

Yea or BECAUSE of them.

Check NRA statistics, States that are easy on gun ownership and CCW have a Decrease in violent crime. Those that have always been lenient have some of the lowest numbers.
Guess Ill. wants to maintain their poor rating.

I'm so glad I'm out of Illinois.
I'm happy for you that you no longer live in the Socialist Republic of Illinois.
But you need to send that report to every freedom loving gun owning Citizen of the USA that lives in that God forsaken state and warn them, tell them to talk to their state rep and say vote no.
If Il does this other states could follow. If the Citizens of Il do not stand up and reject this filth Citizens of other States will suffer the same Hitlarian abuse.

AND if they can solve the tensions with Islamic terrorists by sitting down and talking away their hatred, why all those gang members, junkies, and other baddies will probably all become boy scouts afte seeing the error of their ways.
