Hi everyone. I'm a long-time firearms person, but first-time Hi-Point owner. I recently acquired a C9 that appears to have been stored in a container of red paint. Yeah...I haven't figured that out yet either. I have most of the paint off. Underneath the finish is in pretty much horrid condition.
Has anyone used Muriatic acid to remove the stock finish from a C9? If that won't work is there anything short of media blasting that will work?

I would send it back to Hi Point. They'll repair it all and send it back to you. All it costs you is the shipping to them.

@SteelMaus Send it back to the factory. They'll make it look brand spankin' new and -as a bonus- it'll be safe to shoot.

Like everyone else has said, send back to MOM and they'll make it like new and usable. Or, at least make it not look like it was used in a zombie killing movie.

You will have to make sure they can read the serial number. They will not touch it if they cant

Best bet is reaching out to HP, for missing/damage repair.
Cerakote folks will also be able to sort this C9 out if it proves out to be only cosmetic...

Just for reference the 995 was used in a school shooting but that doesn't make the gun bad. Just the shooter was a bad guy.
