I just joined this forum since it seems to have all sorts of info on the 995. I'm interested in picking one up- seems a little like the old VW bugs- a little unusual looking but very reliable and inexpensive, and with a loyal following of people who use it. It's a lot more affordable than the Beretta Storm too. Anyhow, I'm always one to want to save a little cash, and to me a functional used 995 would be the same as buying a new one. I'm in the Ithaca NY area and was wondering if anyone had any tips on places that might have inexpensive used 995s for sale locally. Failing that, advice on buying used 995s in general would be appreciated. Thanks

Used ones arent really all that much cheaper. Dont go to GB because they are ridiculously priced. You can sometimes find deals on rrarms and other website. Just look locally and snatch up whatever deal you can get.

Thanks- I saw someone had a 995 with an ATI stock and scope advertised locally this past weekend for $280. I was just thinking should I, shouldn't I, and by the time I gave the guy a call to look at it, it was gone. He'd traded some tools for it I think. Anyhow, now I'm kicking myself that I didn't call earlier and trying to find something similar.

To me, that seems kinda high. ATI stock is 50 or so new. You can get a new origianl 995 for say 180 nowadays and the scope who knows. Still, seemed kinda high. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I agree the price seems high. I was thinking that I'd be able to get the price down to $220 or so, but like I said, it was gone when I called the next day. Don't know if it's because the demand was high in this area or what, but it definitely made me wish I called sooner. Then I was trying to find another that was for sale around here because the 995s are pretty well regarded for their price, I stumbled on this site. No luck finding one so far, but it's cool to see there are so many mods that can be done when I'm finally able to pick one up

Check your local pawn shops, I picked up a used 4095 about a month ago for $180 . the only thing wrong with it was no scope mount. I fixed that with a call to the mothership, and they had me one in the mail the next day. Some times you can get good deals there, I had been looking for a new 4095 for months, but I'm well satisfied with the one I got.

Good suggestion. I'm just outside of Ithaca NY. It's kind of rural here, I don't know of pawn shops around. Maybe if I drive over an hour or so to Syracuse or Binghamton I could find a pawn shop, not real sure, but yeah, I'd love to find someone in the area that had a 995 to sell because they wanted to buy something different to try out for themselves- I get that way after a few years with the same gun myself.
