I succeeded in moving my sling to the left side last week, but sort of mangled the stock a little bit getting a Stock Nut out. Then I decided to buy the side rails from "mom" and noticed I'll probably have to remove another Stock Nut to get them on. I might even end up buying a new stock considering they're relatively inexpensive.

What's the best way to get these out without ruining the plastic?

Thanks.

Remove screw
Replace screw only turning it one thread (just enough to hold it in place)
Insert Allen Wrench into screw and smack it with a rubber mallet (or other implement of destruction)
Remove screw and screw it in the other side
Pull on screw and remove your newly loosened nut
