How many rounds did you cram into it?Just bought a brand new JHP 45 new in the box. Inserted the magazine and pulled back on the slide and the first round wouldn’t feed. It did not want to come out of the magazine
Should hold 9. Might want to pop off the base and make sure the spring isn't hung up. A couple of butter knives will make the task easy.I had 8.
No….what it needs is some Hi Point love. Not every gun is Glock perfection. Try loading 5 rounds, see if it works. Your gun SHOULD have gotten to you able to feed…but you MIGHT have to adjust feed lips, or do some break in. Most of us kind of enjoy the challenge. If we wanted a better gun, we’d buy a better more expensive gun….which most of us did, but we still have a place in our hearts for cheap guns assembled in a garage in the USA. And no….that’s not a joke.I tried to delete the post because there’s no point of even asking on here. The thing needs to get sent in for repair. It’s brand new and when I pull the slide back it gets stuck and won’t even go into battery unless the stock magazine is removed.
That's what he wanted to do as his first step. Since it was the wee hours of the morning I was the only one responding and I have no knowledge of his skill level I was a bit reluctant to tell him to grab a pair of pliers and fuck it up worst. Plan was to walk him through the simple solutions first (bound spring, proper loading alignment, etc) but unfortunately I fell asleep. I guess since everyone else wasn't here at that time to solve his issue he decided to delete all his posts and make it impossible for anybody else to help him. If anyone wants to help, his rounds aren't stripping properly. Could be as simple as he's loading them "nose down". I'll never know as I have absolutely no use for anybody that scrubs their posts. Hope he ships it in and they just send it back telling him it's fine.but you MIGHT have to adjust feed lips,
You’re right. I just wanted it to work right out of the box because I don’t have the money to go run 500 rounds through it and also I’ve been trying to get a jhp 45 for months now because I love the look and I was just frustrated everything was going wrong. Also I’m a dumbass because the slide is supposed to lock on an empty mag. I got another FTF right now but I pulled back again on the slide and got it to feed correctly so I’m pretty sure it’s just a magazine issue and not something with the firearm itself.No….what it needs is some Hi Point love. That’s part of why Hi Points are so cheap.
BTW….JHP or FMJ ball ammo? Even pricier guns take break in to run JHP….
Properly load your mag (rounds against the back spline and in a slightly nose up position) and leave it loaded when not in use. It will help break in the spring. And don't sit around hand cycling rounds. It's dangerous and Hi-Points don't hand cycle worth a shit. Only way to know if it cycles properly is to shoot it.You’re right. Sorry I deleted it because I wasn’t sure if I was doing something wrong and I didn’t want to seem like I was trashing the brand. So when I put the rounds in the mag they are nose up but when I pull the slide back and look into the observation point the round is no longer pointed up causing it to stay in the magazine. That's what he wanted to do as his first step. Okay. I just loaded a mag with 9 rounds all back against the spline and nose up. Pulled the slide back and the first round is still parallel to the ground basically (not nose up). I’ll leave the magazine loaded if the spring is the problem I’m not sure what would cause it to not stay nose up.Properly load your mag (rounds against the back spline and in a slightly nose up position) and leave it loaded when not in use. Lock the slide back and insert your loaded mag while looking in the ejection port to see if you can see what is causing the orientation change. It doesn't need to point up high. Just aimed where it needs to go. Pointed down below the barrel is bad.Sorry I deleted it because I wasn’t sure if I was doing something wrong and I didn’t want to seem like I was trashing the brand. Didn’t want to make it seem like I was hiding anything. so the angle of the magazine makes it seems like the round isn’t pointed up, but when I eject the magazine the round is pointed up. Does that make sense like if you take the 45 mag and stand it on a table the round will be parallel to the table. So in the port it looks flat but it’s actually pointed up relative to the magazine. But, when I push down on the round there is some play , like it’s fully loaded with 9 rounds but I can jiggle the top round to make it pointed up or down.Lock the slide back and insert your loaded mag while looking in the ejection port to see if you can see what is causing the orientation change. Deleting posts = hiding. Trust me. Everyone who has a problem immediatly calls it a piece of shit. We're used to it and don't take it personally.
A little play is fine. Much better than too tight. If the top round is pointed toward the barrel, rack it and shoot it. It's the only way to know for sure if it's OK or not. And when you rack it, do it with authority. If you rack it like an okd woman chances are it won't go into battery.Didn’t want to make it seem like I was hiding anything. so the angle of the magazine makes it seems like the round isn’t pointed up, but when I eject the magazine the round is pointed up.
