Yup, the ATF is at it again. You guys still think the Scotus and Bruen are helping? Most leftist states and the ATF are just thumbing their noses at it...

This time they have really done it though.

80% stuff there weren't a large percentage of gun owners in general that did that. Yes, still against the 2A but not a lot of squeaky mice.

Next, the FRT triggers, once again, not a large percentage of gun owners.

Both of those the ATF has overreached but nothing has really been done. Yes, FPC and others have lawsuits, but we see where that has gotten us. Bruen was a win without being a win...

Enter Pistol Braces!! Now this is Millions and Millions of people... they have even included the Roni/MCK stocks... Congrats everyone on being felons in the ATFs eyes.

If you read through the 293 pages you get the impression that they were nice to us over the last few years letting us use them even though they knew they were SBRs and we shouldered them... they are even waiving the $200 tax stamp for everyone to 'register" them.

Everyone that has one has a grace period of 120 days to turn them in, destroy them or register them. No offense, if I was getting a stamp I would go full bore with real stock on it with a vertical grip!!!

Register them, I'm sure some will.

Destroy them, yeah, sure, we'll go with that. I'm sure some people will do that too >.>

Turn them in (to be destroyed) and receive no compensation that you paid your hard earned money for, yeah the line will be long for that one.

Anyway, how can an alphabet agency be stopped, creating or changing laws, where only congress has that ability. They are literally breaking the law themselves. OK so they are calling it a policy change... Now I am no lawyer but laws being broken is what lands you in prison, does ignoring policy do that?

ATF has run its course and needs to go away, and the NFA along with it.

Never happen as long as the spineless are still on "our side" in Washington.

Yeah, free SBR is how they suck you in. You know they are just trying to get everyone on a registry right? That's the part that gets me. Don't get me wrong, I have a few tax stamps - for suppressors. I elected to get those because I wanted a suppressor. I was not forced to be put on a registry I did it on my own... this seems forced to me lol.

As for the inevitable court win, that's one of my points. No one will enforce the "court win" and they will keep trampling the 2nd any chance they get.

Oh also for the courts thing? Not news but.. this final rule was signed by MERRICK GARLAND AG of the US, head of DOJ.... ergo... it doesn't matter if the SCOTUS grants us more theoretical 2A wins, if the DOJ agencies (FBI and ATF) will not enforce SCOTUS or let SCOTUS rulings stop them.... I mean, the SCOTUS is a part of the DOJ; so right off the bat, there's no real teeth to the SCOTUS rulings regarding the 2A against rogue Federal Agencies or States defying them.

Free registration. Sure, if they get a flood of applications it will take how many years to get your "okie dokie?" 2-3?? In the mean time get arrested at the range if the AFT happens to show up even if you have proof of applying?

3 million braces (estimated - wonder how they got that estimate >.>) but yeah it takes 9 months to a year to get a tax stamp on a suppressor, can you imagine 3 million applications coming in?

I wonder how many will do it though, very curious on the final number... I'm thinking numbers (percentage wise) similar to the NY Assault Style weapon registration.

This is the new tactic! They are offering pretty much the same kind of deal on AR 15 and dozens of other guns in Illinois! The plan is to eventually get ALL guns registered ,little by little , using the threat of confiscation and waiving the stamp fee. Once they have them registered they will make new laws to try to confiscate them. Stand firm until SCOTUS can take the case ,again!!

Hell ya that's what it is. SCOTUS overturning it will at least mean we aren't getting arrested. Actually stopping these people from making more and more unconstitutional "laws" (and I use that term very very loosely) is a different story.

IF anyone has one, I would wait till day 115-119 to file an E Application. even if it takes years to get them all registered pending is good enough.

But yeah most of us don't have those silly things...

There is a mountain of work to do to remove the reasons for ATF to continue to exist.. otherwise, the Feds would just have a Firearms branch in the FBI or Homeland Security to do exactly the same shit the ATF has been doing.

But I will say couldn't we leave all those laws, and just do a find/replace the word ATF with, like you kinda said, a letter agency firearms division? I know its the same thing, I just want to see the ATF dissolved lol.

Oh no. It's worse than that. In 88 days after filing for the back ground check if it isn't completed for whatever reason, they can begin an enforcement action. They have everything to arrest you for owning an illegal SBR.

Watch the GOA lawyer explain it at SHOT. He spoke right to the ATF as they are set up at the show.

The part that gets me is the 88 day thing. now that I never actually knew. If the BGC extends past 88 days its an automatic denial. They could technically just sit on everyone's not finish the BGC and the "everyone fails" but now they have a name, address, picture of said "sbr" and you basically have incriminated yourself. Now they can take "enforcement action".

Now would they have thought it this far through, maybe... but now it should make people think twice, is it a trap? Like the guy from GOA said, he cannot tell anyone not to do it because it is the law, but he cant tell them they should do it either...

Well lets hope an injunction gets done quick on this to buy people more time... and hopefully this gets shot down in quick order.

it is not "precedent" but... there's a possibility that the entire NFA could be binned to the trash of history through the "common lawful use vs "dangerous and unusual " weapons route.

This was prolly brought up before, but like I said my mind is mush right now with all the crap going on... but I was thinking... how about those AK pistols that are all over the place. Pistols are not a part of 922r, so when these all become SBRs because of the brace, err I mean stock, will they all need to get the requisite number of US parts?

Same with regular pistols, if you put them in one of those pistol brace things (like the MCKs of the world) would they require the same thing?

Or is there a blurb in there where those are exempt?

Yes I know, I never heard of any 922r "check" or arrest, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't use that in the future after you got the "free tax stamp" and now they know where to come look!!

Most of us grew up with really funny but violent cartoons, I didn't turn out to be an axe murderer... I played Doom (online 3 v 3) one of the very first online shooter games in my 20's... once again, I turned out OK...

There are actually people out there that blame the games, movies etc. Those to me are the same people that want to ban the gun because it enables a sicko to kill a bunch of people...
