Yes there is. If the local sheriff or State authorities tell the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms to stay the devil out of their county or out of their State with threats of arresting Federal authorities that has teeth. Here is to hoping that happens in many States and counties across the United States.
That shit only works for states like California, Illinois and New York.

Yup, the ATF is at it again. You guys still think the Scotus and Bruen are helping? Most leftist states and the ATF are just thumbing their noses at it...

This time they have really done it though.

80% stuff there weren't a large percentage of gun owners in general that did that. Yes, still against the 2A but not a lot of squeaky mice.

Next, the FRT triggers, once again, not a large percentage of gun owners.

Both of those the ATF has overreached but nothing has really been done. Yes, FPC and others have lawsuits, but we see where that has gotten us. Bruen was a win without being a win...

Enter Pistol Braces!! Now this is Millions and Millions of people... they have even included the Roni/MCK stocks... Congrats everyone on being felons in the ATFs eyes.

If you read through the 293 pages you get the impression that they were nice to us over the last few years letting us use them even though they knew they were SBRs and we shouldered them... they are even waiving the $200 tax stamp for everyone to 'register" them.

Everyone that has one has a grace period of 120 days to turn them in, destroy them or register them. No offense, if I was getting a stamp I would go full bore with real stock on it with a vertical grip!!!

Register them, I'm sure some will.

Destroy them, yeah, sure, we'll go with that. I'm sure some people will do that too >.>

Turn them in (to be destroyed) and receive no compensation that you paid your hard earned money for, yeah the line will be long for that one.

Anyway, how can an alphabet agency be stopped, creating or changing laws, where only congress has that ability. They are literally breaking the law themselves. OK so they are calling it a policy change... Now I am no lawyer but laws being broken is what lands you in prison, does ignoring policy do that?

ATF has run its course and needs to go away, and the NFA along with it.

Never happen as long as the spineless are still on "our side" in Washington.

OK done venting...

Here is a link to the statement that also contains the link to the 293 page document if you want some laughs before bed.

This is the new tactic! They are offering pretty much the same kind of deal on AR 15 and dozens of other guns in Illinois! The plan is to eventually get ALL guns registered ,little by little , using the threat of confiscation and waiving the stamp fee. Once they have them registered they will make new laws to try to confiscate them. Stand firm until SCOTUS can take the case ,again!!

Hell ya that's what it is. SCOTUS overturning it will at least mean we aren't getting arrested. Actually stopping these people from making more and more unconstitutional "laws" (and I use that term very very loosely) is a different story.

IF anyone has one, I would wait till day 115-119 to file an E Application. even if it takes years to get them all registered pending is good enough.

But yeah most of us don't have those silly things...

I'm buying stock in the foam pads people use on the buffer tubes!!!
You could make a little bit of money. The rule will be knocked down by the USSC. They know it.

I think it's crap that scotus makes a decision, then a state changes their laws by a few words, or add a different firearm, then all of a sudden it has to go through the same hoops of banning, threats of confiscation, etc. again. What a PITA. Typical gov disfunction. Myabe they should read the 2nd more slowly. If only the framers would have left that part about the militia out of it.

Cargill vs Garland, 5th District Court; relating to bumpstocks... two important things;

1. ATF cannot create criminal code; that is the job of Congress and not the Courts or Fed Agencies (follow on to W.Va vs EPA it seems) hmm where have we seen this sort of action.. oh yeah the "Final Rule" regarding pistol braces..

2. If the rules/regulations language is ambigous ; then it must be made unambiguous . This is related to the common law principle of Lenity in which anything ambiguous in govt language has to be maximally interpreted in favor of the defendant/citizen and not in favor of the Govt or its agents.

No place does it give the right to keep and bare arms to the militia. It says the right of the PEOPLE shall not be infringed. In fact it doesn't even give people the right. It assumed that right to exist already.

Exactly. The people have the right, and it shall not be infringed…if you need a reason, which you shouldn’t…it’s because the people are the militia when action is required. As such, those “arms” are any and all that are in existence, regardless of unconstitutional classifications or lists.

And it IS that simple.

Representative Matt Gaetz has submitted a bill to one of the House Committees to literally abolish the ATF... unfortunately; this is another "feel good" bill; exactly because in order to actually abolish the ATF, or take steps to disband and defund it... Congress must also repeal these laws

National Firearms Act 1934

Gun Control Act 1968

parts of Firearms Owner Protection Act 1986 (Hughes Amendment particularly)

Whatever the Codes are that deals with the Sporting Clause and import bans

And the President, or whoever replaces Biden  should also sign EOs to Overrule/overturn/nullify the EOs of import bans like the ones GH Bush signed....

There is a mountain of work to do to remove the reasons for ATF to continue to exist.. otherwise, the Feds would just have a Firearms branch in the FBI or Homeland Security to do exactly the same shit the ATF has been doing.

That right there.

But I will say couldn't we leave all those laws, and just do a find/replace the word ATF with, like you kinda said, a letter agency firearms division? I know its the same thing, I just want to see the ATF dissolved lol.

The ATF can be abolished with a single act of congress rolling the ATF in to the FBI, but having additional agencies like ICE and the ATF give them more directions to spread the "discretionary" funds for black bag operations. More ways to line pockets, bury bodies, hide mistakes, etc. They already took the A, the T, and the E away from them and gave those back to the treasury and FBI.

He also said they'll also go after the funding, the laws, and restrict their ability to "interpret" and create codes to do things that only congress can change.

So the way I understand it is. You get a free pass for a SBR that you can the place a real stock on it. If that the case someone will be getting 11 SBRs. Then when it gets tossed out by the USSC you still have tax free SBRs and can just built more pistols. Theres a reason you place other on those unassembled lowers when you buy them ;);););)

The problem with the “free stamp” is, once they have a million on file, someone is going to realize they missed out on $200,000,000 of tax revenue, and there’s literally nothing stopping congress from adding a yearly fee to help cover the cost of doing all that paperwork, or some other ridiculous rationale to keep milking the people.

And with the requirement to register with photos and such... it's giving them everything needed to send a tax bill or some such after the 120 days go by, if Fed courts don't enjoin/place a TRO on the whole thing

Oh no. It's worse than that. In 88 days after filing for the back ground check if it isn't completed for whatever reason, they can begin an enforcement action. They have everything to arrest you for owning an illegal SBR.

Watch the GOA lawyer explain it at SHOT. He spoke right to the ATF as they are set up at the show.
