Every once in a while, I find a manufacturer that I get obsessed with. Ruger, The Hidden Woodsmen, Helikon-Tex Tops, Knives are a few. A few months ago I found another. BPS Knives.
BPS Knives is a family owned business located in Ukraine. I have been interested in them for several months now. They make wood handled, full tang and rat tail tang knives with either a full flat or Scandi grind. Most of their knives are carbon steel, but I did get a friction folder for Christmas that had a stainless blade. They have a few other stainless blades and I ordered a fixed blade stainless to match up with the stainless folder. It showed up unexpectedly today.
The workmanship on their knives is great, and the prices are very good. I stayed away from them for the longest while because of the steel. They use 1066. I like at least 1075 and prefer 1095 or D2. But a friend raved about them, I bought the cheapest one that was listed and honestly, I have been impressed. Glad he turned me on to them.
I have another one inbound, this one a rat tail large Bushcraft style blade. Shipping can take a few weeks because of the war, but it should be here maybe mid February. If there is any interest I will review it, along with all of the others. I will have 7 of there knives when this last one arrives.
In the mean time a little eye candy, the 2 stainless ones.
