No, i believe thats a Patent date stamp. The serial number dates it to 1943. The pistol is 66 years old. 24 years older tham me...

Boy that's nice. I had a 1911 for a stint but had to make some bills. Hopefully I can get another one for the anniversary in 2011. I bet they'll offer some slick deals. Beautiful piece my friend.
