got a c9 yesterday for basically 90 bucks new......paid 190 bucks for the c9 but since the gun store has a shooting range (wich i go to quite a bit) when you buy a hand gun they give you a range card good for 10 free visits to range value 100 bucks. so i got the c9 for 90 bucks and pre paid 10 visits to the range. pretty good deal for a new hand gun..

Not sure I would agree that you got your c-9 for 90 bucks but I would agree that you got a good value.

haha....x2

more like, thats their way of ensuring you buy and waste ammo there, you have to think of it in terms of how many people pay 10 dollars a day, how many lanes they have, how long a group usually stays, and how much their rent is. Say they have 10 lanes, 10 people 10 dollars and they typically stay for 2 hours. 10x10=$100 open from say 10-5 minus an hour for lunch. thats 6 hours divided by 2 so you get 3x100=$300 thats. This is a bare bones example for the sake of over simplification. Thats $300 a day of residual income. Meaning all they do is let you stand there and "fire at will" not to mention you might grab a box of marked up ammo, a candy bar for a dollar, or see that used mosin gant thats just so much nicer than the one you have. Thats a way of getting you in there for repeat business. Its marketing 101. Not trying to be an ass i personally just wouldn't look at it as saving $100  Please dont flame me

oh i understand were your coming from...i have my own range in my back yard that i mostly use..but when the weather sucks im gonna go to the range..i was just looking at it that i know ill go to the range at least 10 times and yes it will be there range for 2 simple reasons, there the closest and have cheapest range fees. hell ive already been to the range 2 times this month not becouse of weather but i needed to kill a couple hours after work. i dont know what they charge for ammo i bring my own. im not interested in renting any of there guns i have a thing about used guns unless i know whos they are. but anyways like i said i know im goin to use the range at least 10x so i see it as i basically pre-paid for 10 range visits and got the c-9 for 90 bucks.

Wait a minute!!!!!!!!

You can shoot IN YOUR BACKYARD and you got a C9 for 90 BUCKS!?!?!

:wideeyed2: :wideeyed2: :wideeyed2: :wideeyed2: :wideeyed2: :wideeyed2:

In Phoenix, the number of places I can shoot I can count on ONE HAND, and good luck finding any C9 for under $250! While I wouldn't live in any city with less than 2 million... I guess living out in the sticks has some perks. Granted I would go nuts and unemployed living so far from civilization that you can actually shoot within walking distance to your own home.

I would have bought one here today. The "only" Hi Point dealer in Las Vegas said with a straight face, $350 out the door. I was thinking to myself, this guy is nuts. He did say that they have a lay a way plan (he had 3 people already doing that) ,they weren't making any money on the deal, and no high pressure sales. I thanked him for his time, and walked out the door with him following me out proclaiming that the gun will not be there for long and I better get it today. Crazy....

This is stupidity. We should make a black list of all stores trying to charge CRAZY prices for hi points. I went looking for some C9's the other day and I went to Benton Shooter supply in Benton, TN and they wanted $210 for a c9. When I asked the guy why they are so much he told me the prices went up a month ago and that is what they cost now. I told him that was wrong because I just bought a hi point .45 2 weeks ago and it was less than you want for your C9. The next place I called wanted $140 for it.

All it is is places trying to take advantage of the short supply of all things gun related right now. Or places that have extreme overhead because of 50 salespeople running around and a million dollars worth of assault rifles in the place. Try places with low overhead to get a good price, ie a pawn shop in a less than desirable location, a good place to look is what some people call the "hood". Gun shows are also a good place, at least the ones I have been to all have more than 1 booth selling them so no one tries to jack the price up to much because they wouldn't sell any.

gunbroker auction = 105.01 ("factory new" with the extra site / trigger lock)
shipping = 35
credit card 4% surcharge = 5.60 (easier/faster than sending a money order)
local transfer fee = 20
grand total = 165.61

Sales tax is over 9% here in Washington, so if I had bought locally for 199.99 I would have ended up about $55 higher. Not a huge difference, but it doesn't look to me that there will be much extra legwork so I'm giving this route a try.

Greetings Peeps

I was at a gunshow a few wks back and saw a table full of HP Pistols...the C9s were $200 and the .45 acp models were 20 bucks more, HPs website has em listed at $155 msrp so I called a local gunshop and they quoted me a price of $250...the salesman said $155 was a thing of the past, expect to pay $250 now...

Im thinking he was full of crap.....can I buy a C9 for $155 or will I have to pay an extra hundred bucks? I live in florida so any info where to buy would be greatly appreciated.

For TN users try this website http://www.gunownersclub.com/.. You can find good prices sometimes.. there are some gunstores that put guns in with ok prices.

+1 on that one. The "Hood" stores are usually bypassed by the regular gun-nut crowd, so deals can be found or negotiated easier. I got my C-9 at the last gun show here $171 w/ tax. I couldve bought it cheaper at a big retailer. But the old man and his son working their small booth together seemed like a better investment of my dollars. Small business is what makes America great. 8)
