Well my application finally came in the mail today...I guess I'm an idiot because I didn't know you had to have a hunting license to get your C&R. I've never been hunting in my life. Shooting has always just been for fun. So now it appears I have more hoops to jump thru first.

Ok I read that all again.....is that only for nonimmigrant alien??

it's #10 C on the back of the first page. nonimmigrant alien certification of compliance.
That's the part I missed at first, and why I was confused.
Now that I've read it again I understand.

Now thats a good question. BTW, you don't have to go see them, just send them a copy of the application. It's just sort of an FYI to them, so they can write to the BATF if they have any reason to object.

I would speculate, that since neither has jurisdiction on base, you might send to the head of base security. All sort of depends on how long of a tour you have left. Since any purchases have to be sent to the address on the license, you might be submitting a lot of address change forms. Hard question to really answer.

The correct answer is whomever would come if you dialed 911 is you CLEO.

If you live in the city limits, its the Police chief. If you out in the county, then is the sheriff.
You might want to check with your local police, here in Peoria AZ, I mailed the application to the chief of police and had it returned with a note sating that the local police do not handle the applications and that I needed to mail it to the sheriff's department

On a military base, the CLEO would be the Provost Marshall, the head of the MP's
