I very new to owning guns. My first handgun was Hi Point C9. I bought it new in November and the first 500+ rounds fired flawlessly. I oiled this gun after every trip to the range. Now I can't get 2 rounds through it without it jamming. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

  2. No, did you CLEAN it, as well as oil it?

Welcome TD, lot of good people here that will help you out.
But we need a little more info.

The firing pin is part of the ejection process.
The extractor on the slide basically yanks the empty shell out of the chamber as the slide moves back and it bounces off the exposed firing pin through the ejection port.

For this reason it's not recommended to cycle live ammo through the gun if you're trouble shooting.

If you have a loading or ejection issue you may have a bent firing pin.

Describe what you have and take pictures for us.
If you're using the phone app it's easiest to attach images.

After 1 round is fired, the next round either partially loads or 2 rounds try to load at once. When this happens I remove the magazine and two bullets fall out.

My C9 had a feed problem a couple weeks ago,it would have bullet go in nose low and a double feed behind it, I stripped gun down and cleaned and oiled very well, I also polished feed ramp to mirror finish and after that I ran 100 rounds with no more issues.

how old is the pistol? new, or just new to you? next time you fire it, and it jams, take a couple of pics before you clear the jam so we can see what it is doing. in the mean time, store the weapon with the slide locked open, load the magazines and leave them loaded. this helps the springs inside...

I can't get pictures until next week. The firing pin looked alright when I checked.

The spent round ejects fine before it jams?

Is there anything you changed or adjusted?

I know our C9's only come with one mag. I wonder if it's an issue with the mag since that seems to be the Achille's heel of these pistols. Maybe you could tweak the feed lips to see if that helps or even get another mag for $15 to see if the problem continues. Best wishes TD ! :D
