Well, I took it out to the range for testing this evening, after polishing the feed ramp. First forty rounds went through just fine, then I started experiencing a consistent FTF on either the seventh or eighth round per magazine, where the round gets stuck pointed almost straight up. I believe I remember reading where this is due to the mag lips not being tight enough. Please confirm. ALSO...and a bit more disconcerting is that about 75% of the time my slide does not lock back after the last round. This has been consistent both times at the range. Are there any adjustments I can make or should I just call HP? Thanks!

I can't be sure what yours is doing, but mine had a similar issue: on one of the last rounds usually the round would stick straight up. I tightened the feed lips on mine a little and it hasn't had that problem since. Give it a try. Be careful only to tighten them slightly, otherwise you'll end up with other ftf problems.

Keep shooting

I'm not sure what's going on with the jams, but you could be limp wristing without knowing it or it could be the magazine itself. Take your mags apart and clean them out and see if that helps any. Also make sure your feed ramp is clean and free of debris.

As far as the slide not locking back, it sounds like the hold open has some issues. If it continues to happen or you feel it's been problematic, call Hi-Point and see if they recommend sending it in. Also, like the previous poster said, you can try to tighten up the feed lips.
