This is my very first firearm. I have never fired it. When pulling the slide back for the first time, it stuck in the open position. The safety is off, I pull the slide back all the way, but it it only returns to the open position. Not finding any clue in the manual. Any tips?

    Thanks,
    Clu

Rack it with an empty mag and it will do that. Because it's supposed to. Remove the mag and rack it to release the slide. Insert mag to dry fire.

You mean to say, its doing exactly what its supposed to do.
Empty it is supposed to lock back.

I would strongly recommend you talking to a local gun shop or perhaps the police department to see if there is any kind of firearm training courses in your area. It sounds like you could really use one.

Hi points have no slide release. It's a little awkward getting used to.

Because it didn't have a pointless chunk of metal sticking out the side?

is the magazine in the pistol? if so, remove it and try again. you should find someone local to show you the basics of pistol operation. do lots of research, there are tons of videos on the net. as this is your first firearm, have some one with more experience go with you when you go on your first range trip.

sure was that and the firing pin being the ejector didn't help. I also didn't like the way the c9 felt in my hand.

I don't understand this statement. How is the firing pin the ejector?

    glad I could help.

  16. It was fairly common on semi auto pistols of "Saturday Night Special" fame.
